Just as effortless as it is to worry, positive thoughts must also be made without strain if they are to be effective. Goals should not be a struggle to visualize nor should they cause stress with the mere thought of them. Affirm your goals with adoration so they are non-intimidating or tension creating. If you cannot find it in yourself to feel excitement and love towards the goal you seek, then it is not the right goal for you at this time. You should feel passion for the task at hand. One of the most important solutions towards achieving a goal is to consistently approach it with care and gentleness until you feel genuinely indifferent to its outcome. When you reach the state of genuine indifference that is when you are truly on track towards achieving that goal.
Self-defeating behaviors are often caused by conscious self-analysis, self-criticism, and introspection if done as a form of continual second-guessing. Attempting too much sets up inevitable failure, which we later berate ourselves for not having accomplished. Feeling jittery, worried, or anxious thinking about the great amount of work before us is a classic form of negative feedback. We believe we should be able to do everything all at once. We practice self-condemnation by holding ourselves to unrealistic expectations.
Most people you are in competition with are not going to give 100 percent. Reason being many have the same unrelenting negative feedback, emotional sabotage, and failure to plan. What is 100%? When you think of it, 100% is comfort level. Like water that seeks its own level, each individuals 100 percent should be what feels right for them.
